Ecological Land Management and Stewardship LLC (abbreviated hereafter as ELMS) recently completed a property line marking project for a client in the Lancaster, New Hampshire area.

ELMS first reviewed the deeds and surveys found in the county records to understand the bounds of the property. Next, ELMS created a geo-referenced map of the property using a statewide dataset and made sure that the bearings and distances in the survey matched the geo-referenced map. The purpose of this geo-referenced map is to help ELMS initially get in the area of the boundary line as well as record GPS points and tracks. This GPS information can be utilized in the future if this boundary line needs to be re-located again, years from now. Once, ELMS is in the field, the existing in-field boundary evidence is flagged out. This in-field evidence is then compared to match what is found in the deed and survey of the property. Once it has been confirmed to be a match, ELMS then marks this boundary line evidence in a more permanent manner, with blazes, paint, and high quality survey tape.

On this specific project, the boundary line was evidenced by stonewalls, new barbed wire fence line, old barbed wire fence line, and old blazes on trees. We have years of experience relocating boundary lines and marking boundary lines. Go to the contact us page if you would like ELMS to help you locate and re-mark your boundary lines.
